King and Steph Doswell recently had the opportunity to experience the Clontarf Foundation at the Mt Austin High School Academy.
The Clontarf Foundation provides support to young Aboriginal men to assist with improving their education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment opportunities.
There are 68 academies across Australia and they are still growing with continued community support.
Chris and Steph attended the regular breakfast that is held two mornings a week following various activities. They were most impressed by the manners of the boys and the mateship that exists between them. They were given a tour of the Academy room by Year 9 student Chris Davis who was proud to show them the activities and excursions that they have participated in.
Chris and Steph had the opportunity to spend time sharing their roles at Twomeys, along with discussing with the boys individually their future aspirations.
It was overall an incredibly positive experience and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the Academy in the future.
